How does Buzzquiz work?

The host creates a room at buzzquiz.app/host and configures the quiz: categories, difficulty, number of rounds, and question type. Players join at buzzquiz.app/join using the room code. No app or account needed. The host starts the quiz; questions appear on the host screen while players answer on their own phone.

Open questions where players type their own answer (automatically graded, typos and synonyms accepted), and multiple choice where players pick from 4 options.

How are open answers graded?

Answers are graded on meaning, not exact spelling. 'Paris', 'paris' and 'capital of france' all count as correct. The host can always manually override an answer from the host screen.

What is Boozz mode?

Boozz is the 18+ drinking game variant. Correct answers let you hand out sips. Wrong answers mean you drink. There are chaos events, player roles, and blind bets for extra chaos.

How long does a quiz take?

A standard quiz with 3 rounds of 5 questions takes about 20–30 minutes including scoreboards. Adjust via the number of rounds, questions per round, and the timer.

Can the host remove a player?

Yes. From the host screen you can click 'Kick' next to any player to remove them from the room.

What is a quiz code?

A quiz code is a one-time access code that unlocks one quiz session for all players in the room. Enter the code on the host screen just before starting the quiz.

How do I buy a quiz code?

Click 'Host a Quiz', go to the host page, click the pricing button, choose a package (1, 3 or 10 codes), and pay via Stripe. Your codes are sent immediately by email.

How long are codes valid?

Codes never expire. Keep them and use them whenever you're ready.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Payment is processed via Stripe. Accepted methods: credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), iDEAL, Bancontact, and other local methods Stripe offers in your region.

I paid but didn't receive an email. What now?

Check your spam folder. Then go to the confirmation page (shown after successful payment) and click 'Resend codes'. Still stuck? Email us at help@buzzquiz.app with your order number.

Yes. All payments go through Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., a certified PCI-DSS Level 1 provider. Buzzquiz never sees or stores your payment details.

Go to buzzquiz.app/join on your phone, enter the room code from the host screen, and pick a name. Done. No account, no app.

No. Players need no account at all. The host doesn't need one either, just a quiz code to start the session.

Questions can be generated in Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Polish, and Swedish. Choose the language and region when setting up the quiz.

Is there a maximum group size?

One room supports up to 20 players. For larger groups you can run multiple rooms simultaneously on separate screens, each with its own quiz code.
